IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly softball honors, for the week ending Sunday, Feb. 21.
Player of the Week
Jazmine Esparza * R-Sr. * IF * UCF
Esparza led all American players with six hits and nine RBI during a three-game sweep for No. 24 UCF against New Mexico State. She finished the weekend with a .667 batting average, two home runs, a 1.444 slugging percentage and five runs scored. Esparza reached base in all three appearances in game one (Feb. 19), driving in five runs while scoring three times. She added a pair of hits and three RBI in game two (Feb. 20) and two more hits, an RBI and a run scored in game three (Feb. 21).
Pitchers of the Week
Georgina Corrick * Jr. * RHP * USF
Corrick spun a gem for her first win of the new season in game one of a doubleheader against Jacksonville on Feb. 21. She scattered four hits over eight full innings, issuing a single walk on an intentional base on balls with 13 strikeouts against the Dolphins.
Alea White * R-Sr. * RHP * UCF
White became the all-time UCF wins leader after a 2-0 weekend against New Mexico State. She surrendered an unearned run in four innings with three walks and seven strikeouts in game one on Feb. 19 before tossing a complete game four-hitter that featured eight strikeouts to complete the sweep and claim her 81st career win on Feb. 21.

Neleigh Herring * Jr. * IF * Wichita State
Batted .545 with five extra-base hits, six RBI, a 1.182 slugging percentage and four runs scored in a 2-2 Wichita State week; went 3-for-3 with three RBI and two runs against Tarleton State and added three doubles and three RBI in the nightcap versus Lamar on Feb. 20
Bailey Lange * Sr. * LHP * Wichita State
Went 1-0 with a 1.45 ERA in two appearances (one start) for Wichita State; allowed two earned runs in seven innings with nine strikeouts to take the win against Tarleton State on Feb. 20
Olivia Narron * Sr. * OF * East Carolina
Recorded a .385 batting average with five base hits and six runs for East Carolina during a 3-1 tournament trip to Costal Carolina; ripped three hits to open the weekend against Buffalo on Feb. 20 and scored two runs in each game with Costal Carolina on Feb. 21
Kama Woodall * Jr. * RHP * East Carolina
Went 2-0 with a 1.62 ERA for East Carolina during a three-win showing for the Pirates at Coastal Carolina; tossed a three-hit complete game with four strikeouts against Saint Francis (Pa.) on Feb. 20 and allowed one run over six innings in a game two win against Coastal Carolina on Feb. 21
Bethany Busch * Jr. * OF * Houston
Led Houston with a .571 batting average, four hits and three runs in a two-game series against No. 3 Oklahoma; went 3-for-3 with a solo home run and two runs scored in game one against the Sooners on Feb. 21
