UCF's Decamps Named Men's Tennis Player of the Week For Second Time in 2021

IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of its weekly men’s and women’s tennis honors for the week-ending February 22.
 
AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE MEN’S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Gabriel Decamps • Jr. • UCF • Sao Paulo, Brazil
Decamps was 2-0 at No. 1 singles and 2-0 at No. 1 doubles with a combined three wins against nationally ranked opponents in the Knights’ 1-1 week. He scored a 7-5, 6-4 victory against the nation’s No. 4-ranked player and joined doubles partner Trey Hilderbrand for a 6-3 win against the No. 48-ranked tandem in a 4-3 setback to No. 10 Texas Tech. He went on to take a 6-2, 6-1 singles win and a 6-2 doubles victory against the No. 56-ranked tandem in a 7-0 win against North Florida. Ranked No. 16 in singles in the Oracle/ITA preseason rankings, Decamps is off to a 4-1 start in both singles and doubles play this season.
