IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winner of the league’s women’s golf player of the week honor, for the week ending Tuesday, Feb. 23.

Fredgaard enjoyed a standout performance for her second American Women’s Golf Player of the Week award of the season to pace Houston during the ICON Invitational Feb. 22-23 at the Golf Club of Houston in Humble. Fredgaard finished solo second in the 77-player field, ahead of 12 other GolfStat ranked players, to vault herself to No. 2 in the nation with a three-round score of 11-under-par 205 (67-69-69) on the par-72, 6,247-yard layout. She was the only player in the field to string together three sub-60 rounds and one of just five players to beat par each round with the field averaging 1.71 strokes over par. Fredgaard was the tournament leader in par-5 stroke average (4.42, -7) and ranked second in par-3 stroke average (2.83, -2), tallying the third-most birdies in the field for the week with 15.
