UCF, Temple and USF Represented In American Men’s Soccer Week Six Major Weekly Awards

IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly men’s soccer honors, for the week ending Sunday, March 14.
 
Offensive Player of the Week
Hattabiou Barry * Sr. * F * UCF
Barry notched his first goal of the season in the 11th minute and it ultimately held up as the game-winning tally for UCF in a 2-0 shutout of No. 9/12 SMU on March 13. Barry finished a Gino Vivi pass at 10:20 of the opening half to give the Knights a 1-0 lead over the Mustangs. Barry finished the match with four total shot attempts in 90 minutes in the win.
 
Defensive Player of the Week
Pierre Cayet * Sr. * D * Temple
Cayet earned defensive player of the week for the second straight time after Temple posted another clean sheet in a scoreless draw with No. RV Tulsa on March 13. The Owls limited the Golden Hurricane to six attempts on goal during the contest, with just three attempts finding frame over the final 65 minutes of play.
 
Goalkeeper of the Week
Yannik Oettl * Sr. * GK * UCF
Oettl recorded a total of eight saves in an impressive 2-0 shutout victory at No. 9/12 SMU on March 13. Oettl made a total of five stops in the second half alone, including two in the final two minutes of regulation, to preserve the clean sheet.
 
Rookie of the Week
Oscar Resano * Fr. * F * USF
Resano claimed another rookie of the week honor after tallying his second career goal during a 3-1 win for USF over Memphis on March 13. Resano found the third and final goal for the Bulls at 29:48 on one of his three shots in 53 minutes for USF.

Registered first goal at Memphis at 64:54 in a 3-1 defeat at the hands of USF on March 13; attempted four shots (two on goal) in the match
