IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of its weekly women’s lacrosse honors for the week-ending March 21.
AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE ATTACK PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Lilly Siskind • So. • Old Dominion • West Chester, Pa.
Siskind scored seven goals with three assists, two ground balls and two caused turnovers to help Old Dominion to a series split against East Carolina in the opening week of conference play. She figured in four of the Monarch’s nine goals (2g, 2a) ina 12-9 setback to the Pirates in the first game and had five goals and an assist in the 13-12 overtime victory in the second game. She scored three of her five goals in the second half to help the Monarchs overcome a three-goal deficit in the final 26 minutes of regulation. Siskind leads the Monarchs with 19 goals and 27 points in 2021.

Shannon Kavanagh • Sr. • Florida • Smithtown, N.Y.
Kavanagh helped No. 11/11 Florida to a pair of road wins against No. 20/25 Temple as she finished the two-game series with nine goals, four assists, two ground balls, eight draw controls and three caused turnovers. She had five goals and an assist in the Gators’ 15-9 win in the series opener and added four goals with three assists in the 14-7 victory in the second game. Kavanagh took over as The American’s leader in goals (3.43 per game) and points (4.43 per game).

Trombetta lead a Florida defense that limited No. 20/25 Temple, which had been averaging better than 13 goals per game, to nine and seven goals in a pair of road wins against the Owls. Trombetta had six ground balls in each of the two games and finished with 12 ground balls, five caused turnovers and two draw controls, helping to hold the Owls’ leading scorer to one goal and one assist in the series. Trombetta leads the Gators with 23 ground balls and 10 caused turnovers in 2021.

Sarah Reznick • G • RFr. • Florida • Long Beach, N.Y.
Reznick registered a .583 save percentage and finished with double-digit saves in each of No. 11/11 Florida’s two wins against No. 20/25 Temple last week. She made 11 saves and allowed eight goals in a 15-9 victory in the first game and had 10 saves, allowing six goals, with four ground balls in a 14-7 decision to complete the sweep. Reznick leads The American with a .539 save percentage and an 8.18 goals-against average in 2021.
