IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly women’s volleyball honors, for the week ending Sunday, March 21.
Offensive Player of the Week
Anna Davis * Fr. * MH * Tulane
Davis made an impact on both sides of the net for Tulane in a nonconference two-match split with East Division foe USF, leading The American with a .567 hitting percentage and 1.33 blocks per set for the week. She ranked fourth in points per set in the conference with 3.75 against the Bulls. In a four-set win against USF on March 20, Davis hit a sparkling .833 (15 kills on 18 total attacks) and was part of seven total blocks (one solo) to score 19 points herself for the Green Wave.
Defensive Player of the Week
Janiece Jefferies * Jr. * S/RS * East Carolina
Jefferies registered a double-double for East Carolina in a five-set nonconference win on the road at Davidson on March 21. She logged 29 assists for the Pirates (who hit .203 in the win) and led the squad with 25 digs, with her 5.00 digs per set ratio ranking fourth in The American last week.
Weekly Honor Roll

Hit .429 with 10 kills and added three digs and five total blocks (two solo) for East Carolina in a five-set win at Davidson on March 21
Rachel Woulfe * Jr. * OH * SMU
Ranked fourth in The American with a .362 hitting percentage and eighth with 3.50 points per set in a pair of competitive five-set matches for SMU against Texas Tech; hit .441 with 17 kills in the second match against the Red Raiders on March 20
Bria’ Merchant * Jr. * L * SMU
Led The American with 5.60 digs per set for SMU in a pair of matches against Texas Tech; posted 36 digs in match one on March 19 and 20 digs in the second contest on March 20
Emma Wright * Sr. * MB * Wichita State
Was second in The American with a .489 hitting percentage and fifth in points per set with 3.64 in two matches against Kansas; hit .500 with 12 kills and four block assists on March 18 and .476 with 10 kills and three block assists on March 20
