IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly softball honors, for the week ending Sunday, March 28.
Player of the Week
Sydney McKinney * Jr. * IF * Wichita State
McKinney batted a blistering .692 with a .750 on-base percentage, .923 slugging percentage, four RBI and eight runs for Wichita State in a 3-1 weekend to open conference play against East Carolina. McKinney opened the series a by reaching in all four plate appearances in a 3-for-3 day with an RBI, stolen base and four runs scored on March 26. She chipped in two hits, an RBI and a run in both games of a doubleheader on March 27 and then finished off the series with the Pirates 2-for-3 with a solo home run, stolen base and pair of runs scored.
Pitcher of the Week
Georgina Corrick * Jr. * RHP * USF
Corrick continued her early season momentum into the first week of conference play, finishing a combined 3-0 with a save and no earned runs in five appearances (four starts) against North Florida and Memphis. Corrick yielded just seven walks and struck out 27 batters during the week, limiting the opposition to a .127 batting average against. She threw a three-hit complete game with seven strikeouts against North Florida in game two on March 24, allowed a single hit and racked up 11 strikeouts going the distance against Memphis on March 26 and allowed an unearned run over seven innings with seven punchouts to close the series with the Tigers on March 28.
Weekly Honor Roll

Batted .583 with five RBI, nine stolen bases and eight runs for USF against North Florida and Memphis; became the career American stolen bases leader during the week after swiping two bags against North Florida on March 24, three bases in two games against Memphis on March 27 and three steals in the series finale against the Tigers on March 28
Alea White * R-Sr. * RHP * UCF
Went 3-0 with a 1.07 ERA for UCF in a 5-0 overall week that included wins against No. 5 Florida and Houston; allowed one earned run in 4.2 innings with five strikeouts against Florida on March 24 and threw two complete games against Houston on March 26-27
Jada Cody * So. * UTL * UCF
Hit .438 with two home runs, four RBI, a .938 slugging percentage and five runs for 5-0 UCF; went 2-for-4 with an RBI and two runs in a win against No. 5 Florida on March 24 and had five hits, three RBI and scored four times in the sweep of Houston (March 26-28)
Alexis Perry * Sr. * IF * Tulsa
Registered a .667 batting average with a home run, four RBI and two runs in a three-game set against Louisiana Tech; went 3-for-3 with an RBI and run scored in game one on March 27 and drove in three runs in the finale March 28
