IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly women’s volleyball honors, for the week ending Sunday, March 28.
Offensive Player of the Week
Anne-Marie Watson * Sr. * RS * UCF
Watson helped guide UCF to a season-ending sweep against rival USF to complete an undefeated 8-0 campaign in the East Division of The American. She averaged 4.17 points per set (fifth in the conference), a .385 hitting percentage (fourth in the conference and chipped in 1.33 blocks per set (fourth in the conference) for the Knights during the series. Watson hit .364 with five block assists in three sets against USF on March 26 and hit at a .412 clip with three block assists in the finale against the Bulls on March 27.
Defensive Player of the Week
Taylor Davenport * Fr. * MB * Temple
Davenport and Temple controlled the net in a two-match series with Cincinnati, sweeping the Bearcats in the final weekend of the regular season to clinch a berth into the conference tournament. Davenport led The American with 2.00 blocked shots per set last week and chipped in 3.00 points per frame and .262 hitting percentage. She was part of nine block assists in a four-set victory over Cincinnati on March 26 and added nine more block assists, five digs and hit at a .400 clip in a five-set thriller on March 27.

Led The American with 10.78 assists per set as Temple hit .227 as a team in a two-match sweep of Cincinnati; notched 43 assists, five digs and four block assists over four sets on March 26 and added 54 assists and five digs against the Bearcats on March 27
Kayla Dinkins * Jr. * MH * Tulane
Hit at a .288 percentage and averaged 3.86 points per set in a pair of road conference sweeps at Tulsa; delivered 15 kills with a .387 hitting percentage and chipped in four total blocks in match one against Tulsa on March 26
Natalie Foster * Fr. * MB * Wichita State
Recorded a blistering .438 hitting percentage in a two-match split with West Division champion Houston; recorded 17 kills while hitting .556 with six block assists to hand the Cougars their only conference loss of the season on March 26
Torie Frederick * Jr. * L * Houston
Paced The American with 6.29 digs per set in a road sweep at Wichita State; registered 25 digs in a four-set loss on March 26 and added 19 digs in a three-set sweep on March 27
Shannon Williams * R-So. * RS * Cincinnati
Paced the Cincinnati offense with 4.61 points per set while hitting .293 in the final weekend series at Temple; went for a double-double with 13 kills and 10 digs on March 26 and hit .327 with 26 kills in five sets on March 27
