Tulsa’s Morgan, UCF’s Mancha Claim Week Four Softball Weekly Awards

IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly softball honors, for the week ending Sunday, March 7.
 
Player of the Week
Haley Morgan * Fr. * OF * Tulsa
Morgan batted .538 with seven hits, three RBI and six runs scored for Tulsa in a 4-1 week. She also was hit by pitch three different times to reach base at a .625 clip. Morgan logged a hit in all five games, highlighted by a 3-for-3 day with a stolen base and two runs scored in game two against Omaha on March 6. She drove in two runs in a win in game one against New Mexico on March 5.
 
Pitcher of the Week
Gianna Mancha * Sr. * RHP * UCF
Mancha spun seven full innings of three-hit ball for UCF to take the victory over Kennesaw State on March 6 in Orlando. She allowed one earned run and issued one walk, striking out seven batters on 90 pitches. Mancha prevented all but one Kennesaw State base runner from advancing past second base during the game.
 
Weekly Honor Roll
 
Bailey Lange * Sr. * LHP * Wichita State
Went 2-0 with a save in three appearances for Wichita State last weekend; compiled a 0.98 ERA and fashioned a .232 batting average against versus Texas A&M Corpus-Christi, North Texas and Iowa State
 
Ryleigh Buck * Sr. * IF * Wichita State
Batted .357 with two home runs, six RBI and six runs scored in five starts for Wichita State; opened the week 3-for-4 with two home runs and six RBI against Missouri State on March 5
 
Juliana Wilson * So. * C * UCF
Hit .400 with a pair of home runs, two doubles, five RBI and three runs scored in four games against North Florida and Kennesaw State; recorded two RBI in consecutive games with Kennesaw State on March 6-7
 
Chenise Delce * So. * RHP * Tulsa
Went 2-1 with a 1.54 ERA in three appearances (two starts) for Tulsa; threw six shutout innings with four hits, one walk and 10 strikeouts against New Mexico on March 5
 
Rachel McCollum * R-Sr. * UTL * East Carolina
Batted .600 with a .933 slugging percentage and .684 on-base percentage in five starts for East Carolina; registered four straight multi-hit games against Longwood and Liberty on March 5-6
