IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of its weekly men’s and women’s tennis honors for the week-ending March 8.
 
AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE MEN’S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Nicolas Acevedo • So. • Wichita State • Concepcion, Chile
Acevedo won a pair of singles matches in straight sets and added a doubles victory to lead No. 48 Wichita State to dual match wins against Omaha (6-1) and No. 22 Memphis (5-1). He was a 6-1, 6-1 winner at No. 5 singles against Omaha and turned in a 6-4, 6-2 victory at No. 4 against Memphis, giving the Shockers their first victory against a top-25 opponent since 1985.
