IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of its weekly women’s lacrosse honors for the week-ending April 18.
AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE ATTACK PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Brianna Harris • Sr. • Florida • Annapolis, Md.
Harris scored six goals and had five assists with a ground ball, a caused turnover and three draw controls as No. 10 Florida clinched a share of the American Athletic Conference’s regular-season title and earned the No. 1 seed for the upcoming conference championship with a two-game sweep of No. 20 Vanderbilt. Harris scored five goals with an assist in the first game, a 17-7 victory, and had a goal and four assists in Sunday’s 22-9 win.

Kavanagh earns American Midfielder of the Week honors for the fifth time in 2021 after she scored 10 goals with two assists, four ground balls, 21 draw controls and three caused turnovers in Florida’s series sweep of No. 20 Vanderbilt, clinching a share of The American’s regular-season title. She had a hat trick with 11 draw controls in Friday’s 17-7 victory and scored seven goals – the most by an American Athletic Conference player in a game this season – with an assist and 10 draw controls in a 22-9 win Sunday.

Taylor led a defense that averaged 8.8 goals allowed in Temple’s current four-game winning streak, helping the Owls move into a tie for second place in the American Athletic Conference standings. She registered 10 ground balls, 10 draw controls and four caused turnovers in a pair of wins against East Carolina and had a combined eight ground balls with six draw controls and two caused turnovers last week in a series sweep at Cincinnati.

Katie Shallow • D • Fr. • Temple • Havertown, Pa.
Shallow has been a key part of Temple’s defense that has held its last three opponents to single-digit scoring. She had a combined four ground balls and three caused turnovers in the Owls’ 13-7 and 11-6 wins against East Carolina and enjoyed a breakout game with six ground balls and four caused turnovers in a 10-8 win against Cincinnati last week. Shallow, who has started all 13 games as a freshman, is second on the team with 19 caused turnovers and third on the squad with 24 ground balls.

Scored six goals with 15 assists in four games. Had a career-high seven assists in Friday’s 13-7 win against East Carolina.
