IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s men’s and women’s outdoor track & field honors, for the week ending Sunday, April 18.
 
Men’s Track Athlete of the Week
Chris Borzor * So. * Cincinnati
Borzor claimed the top spot in the 200-meter dash at the War Eagle Invitational on April 16-17 hosted by Auburn in Auburn, Alabama. Borzor’s time of 20.55 was the fastest in The American this season and ranked 17th in the NCAA as of April 20.
 
Men’s Field Athlete of the Week
Taran Taylor * So. * Wichita State
Taylor enjoyed a sensational showing in the javelin at the KT Woodman Classic on April 17 in Wichita, leading all collegiate finishers with a top throw of 71.37m (234-2). Taylor is The American leader in the javelin and ranked 15th in the nation as of April 20.
 
Women’s Track Athletes of the Week
Rayniah Jones * Fr. * UCF
Jones claimed fourth place in a loaded field in the 100-meter hurdles at the UF Tom Jones Invitational on April 16-17 in Gainesville, Florida. Her time of 13.04 paced The American and ranked 12th in the NCAA as of April 20.
 
Caisja Chandler * So. * Cincinnati
Chandler took home the event win in the 200-meter dash while competing at the War Eagle Invitational on April 16-17. Her time of 22.92 is the top time this season in the conference and ranked ninth nationally as of April 20.
 
Women’s Field Athlete of the Week
Nu’uausala Tuilefano * Jr. * Houston
Tuilefano logged the victorious throw in the shot put on her second attempt during the LSU Boots Garland Invitational on April 17 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Tuilefano is The American leader in the event and ranked 25th in the NCAA as of April 20.
