Tulane's Burns, Cincinnati's Schoenle Earn Baseball Weekly Honors

IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly baseball honors.
 
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Collin Burns, So., SS, Tulane
Burns helped lead Tulane into first place in The American standings with a four-game sweep of Memphis by hitting .400 (8-20) with six runs, a double, three home runs and seven runs driven in.
 
PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Garrett Schoenle, Sr., LHP, Cincinnati
Schoenle threw eight shutout innings with nine strikeouts in a 6-0 win over Wichita State on Friday, as the Bearcats earned a 3-1 series win. The senior left-hander scattered four hits and two walks.
 
HONOR ROLL
Josh Crouch, Jr., C, UCF
Crouch hit .529 (9-17) with six runs, a home run and two runs driven in as the Knights earned a sweep with East Carolina.
 
Jack Sinclair, Jr., RHP, UCF
Sinclair pitched seven innings with four hits and an earned run with seven strikeouts in a 6-1 series-tying win against East Carolina.
 
Eric Santiago, Gr., INF, Cincinnati
Santiago helped lead the Bearcats to a 3-1 series win over Wichita State by hitting .571 (8-14) with two runs scored, a double and two runs driven in.
 
Collin Sullivan, R-Sr., RHP, USF
Sullivan tossed a 7-inning complete game shutout with seven strikeouts in a 4-0 win over Houston on Sunday.
 
Donovan Benoit, R-Jr., RHP, Tulane
Benoit struck out 11 in 7.1 scoreless innings of work in a 5-0 win over Memphis on Saturday.
