UCF’s Cody, USF’s Corrick Win Softball Weekly Awards For Week 11

IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly softball honors, for the week ending Sunday, April 25.
 
Player of the Week
Jada Cody * So. * IF * UCF
Cody batted .417 with three home runs, five RBI, four stolen bases and six runs scored in a four-game sweep at Memphis, adding a .588 on-base percentage while slugging 1.167. She opened the series 3-for-4 with a pair of solo home runs, a stolen base and three runs in the opening game against the Tigers on April 23. Cody drove in a combined three runs over the final two games of the series and scored two runs to power UCF to the series win on April 24-25.
 
Pitcher of the Week
Georgina Corrick * Jr. * RHP * USF
Corrick was the pitcher of record in all three wins for USF against No. 23 Wichita State last week, logging a 0.67 ERA and 29 strikeouts over 21 innings in the series against the Shockers. She limited Wichita State to a .114 batting average against. Corrick opened the series with a complete game two-hitter, walking two and striking out 10 Wichita State batters in game one on April 23. Starting game two of a doubleheader on April 24, she spun a three-hit shutout with 12 punchouts in a 3-0 win. Corrick added a second three-hitter of the weekend in the series finale, chipping in a three-run home run in an 8-1 victory.

Went 2-0 with a 0.54 ERA in two starts for UCF during a sweep at Memphis; spun a six-inning no-hitter with 13 strikeouts on April 23 and tossed a two-hit complete game with 10 strikeouts on April 25
 
Chenise Delce * So. * RHP * Tulsa
Posted a 2-0 record with a 1.00 ERA in the circle and batted .300 with four RBI in a series sweep at East Carolina; threw a one-hit shutout with 13 strikeouts in game one against the Pirates on April 23 and held ECU to four hits over seven innings in the series finale on April 25
 
Kylie Norwood * Jr. * IF * Tulsa
Batted .467 with two RBI and five runs scored in the Tulsa sweep at East Carolina; went a perfect 5-for-5 with a home run, two RBI and two runs in a win over the Pirates on April 24
 
AnaMarie Bruni * Sr. * OF * USF
Hit .500 with six hits, two stolen bases and two runs scored in a USF series win at No. 23 Wichita State; went 3-for-4 with a stolen base and two runs scored in the series finale against the Shockers on April 25
