IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of its weekly women’s lacrosse honors for the week-ending April 25.
AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE ATTACK PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Monica Borzillo • Sr. • Cincinnati • Devon, Pa.
Borzillo scored a team-high four goals with an assist and three draw controls in Cincinnati’s 14-13 win against East Carolina Sunday, giveing the Bearcats the final spot in the American Athletic Conference Championship. She had a hat trick in the first half to stake Cincinnati to a 6-0 lead and added a key second-half goal to give the Bearcats an 8-6 lead. Borzillo added two goals in 12-11 setback to the Pirates Friday. Borzillo enters the postseason with 37 goals and 24 assists for 61 points.

LeGar led all American Athletic Conference players with 11 points (nine goals, two assists) to go with seven ground balls four draw controls and five caused turnovers in two games. She scored four goals, including the gamewinner, with two ground balls, two draw controls and three caused turnovers in a 12-11 win Friday to keep the Pirates’ postseason chances alive. She had five goals with two assists and five ground balls in a 14-13 setback to the Bearcats Sunday. LeGar finished her season with 28 goals, 11 assists, 39 points and 56 draw controls.

Hawkins registered 10 ground balls and seven caused turnovers in a series split against Temple to left the Commodores to the No. 2 seed in the upcoming American Athletic Conference Championship. She had seven ground balls and six caused turnovers in Sunday’s 10-6 win as Hawkins and the Commodores held the Owls’ top two scorers without a goal. Hawkins had three ground balls in a 13-12 setback to the Owls Friday. She brings a team-leading 37 ground balls and 26 caused turnovers into postseason play.

Reznick registered a .727 save percentage and a 3.52 goals-against average to lead Florida to two wins against Old Dominion as the Gators won the outright American Athletic Conference regular-season title by going 10-0 in conference play. She made nine saves and allowed three goals in 51 minutes in Friday’s 17-6 win and added seven saves with three goals allowed in 51 minutes in Sunday’s 17-4 win. Reznick finished conference play with a 6.59 GAA and a .574 save percentage.
