IRVING, Texas – Cincinnati senior forward IImar’I Thomas and Temple senior forward Mia Davis both claimed All-America honors to cap their senior campaigns following outstanding performances in the 2020-21 season. Thomas was an honorable mention selection by the WBCA, while Davis received an honorable mention nod from the USBWA.
Thomas found a spot on the WBCA honorable mention All-America list for the second straight season after claiming 2021 American Athletic Conference Player of the Year and unanimous all-conference first-team accolades. Thomas led the conference with 23.7 points per game, an American single-season record, and paced the league with a 54.3 field goal percentage and 83.2 free-throw percentage. She also ranked sixth in the conference in rebounds per game (7.5) and blocked shots per game (1.2), and seventh in assists per game (3.3). Thomas’ point per game (ninth) and field goal percentage (22nd) remain ranked in the NCAA top 25 as of the April 2 national statistics report.
Davis repeated on the honorable mention USBWA squad after ranking second in The American with 17.7 points per contest for Temple. She was fourth in the conference with a 43.9 field goal percentage, fifth in rebounds per game (7.6) and ninth in free-throw percentage (69.9). Davis was third in the conference with five double-doubles during the 2020-21 season, earning her third straight bid to the all-conference first team.
