ECU, Houston, USF Earn Women's Soccer Weekly Honors

IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly women’s soccer awards.
 
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Sydny Nasello, Jr., F, USF
Nasello scored the game-winning goal and added an assist in USF’s win over No. 14 Memphis that clinched the No. 1 seed for the American Athletic Conference Women’s Soccer Championship, April 15 and 17.
 
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Chyanne Dennis, Sr., D, USF
Dennis anchored the defense that limited No. 14 Memphis to one goal in the Bull’s 2-1 win. The senior defender also added an assist.
 
GOALKEEPER OF THE WEEK
Maeve English, Fr., East Carolina
English posted six saves, including a diving save on a penalty, in the Pirates’ 4-0 shutout win over Tulsa.
 
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Mikaela Gracia, Fr., GK, Houston
Gracia made four saves in a clean sheet in a 3-0 win for the Cougars over Temple.
 
HONOR ROLL
Cashlin Copley, Sr., F, East Carolina
Copley recorded a goal and an assist in the Pirates’ 4-0 win over Tulsa.
 
Maddie Gear, So., F, Houston
Gear scored a goal and added an assist in Houston’s 3-0 win over Temple.
 
Caitlyn Matthews, Fr., M, Houston
Matthews scored her first collegiate goal in the 33rd minute in the Cougars’ 3-0 win over Temple.

Martinez made five key saves to preserve the Bulls’ 2-1 win over No. 14 Memphis.
