IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly baseball honors.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Cole Harting, Fr., OF, Cincinnati
Harting helped lead the Bearcats to a 4-0 sweep of Tulane by hitting .556 (10-18) with eight runs scored and two runs driven in. The freshman outfielder hit six extra-base hits, including three doubles, a triple and two home runs.
PITCHER OF THE WEEK
AJ Jones, Sr., RHP, UCF
Jones came on in relief for the Knights in game three of a four-game sweep, shutting the door with six scoreless innings. The senior right-hander scattered seven hits and a walk while recording eight strikeouts.
HONOR ROLL
Hunter Goodman, So., C, Memphis
Goodman hit .333 (5-15) with four home runs and seven runs driven in for the Tigers last week. Goodman is up to second in the nation with 21 home runs.
Nelson Rivera, Fr., C, South Florida
Rivera hit .500 (7-14), two runs, a double and a run driven in as the Bulls split a four-game series with East Carolina.
Paxton Wallace, Jr., INF, Wichita State
Wallace led the Shockers to a 3-1 series win over Memphis by hitting .471 (8-17) with three runs scored, a double, a home run and six runs driven in.,
Evan Shawver, Jr., LHP, Cincinnati
Shawver tossed six innings with only one earned run while allowing two hits and two walks with eight strikeouts in an 11-1 win vs. Tulane.
Jack Jasiak, R-Fr., RHP, South Florida
Jasiak threw seven scoreless innings with only two hits and one walk with three strikeouts in a 7-0 win against East Carolina.
