South Florida made a furious rally but fell to Texas, 4-3, in the first game of the Austin Super Regional Saturday, June 13.

AUSTIN, Texas -- South Florida rallied from down three runs in the ninth inning, but No. 2 Texas was able to score in the bottom of the ninth inning to walk off with a victory, 4-3.
Down 3-0, Daniel Cantu, 2021 American Athletic Conference Baseball Championship Most Outstanding Player, homered to lead off the inning. After two outs, Jarrett Eaton doubled to bring up pinch hitter Drew Brutcher for the Bulls (31-29). With a 3-2 count and two outs, Brutcher homered to right to tie the game, 3-3.
Texas came back in the bottom of the ninth, Eric Kennedy doubled to deep center to score Silas Ardoin, who reached on an error, and gave the Longhorns (46-15) the win.
Tanner Witt (4-0) took the win for Texas, allowing three runs in 2.1 innings of relief. Brad Lord (3-5) took the loss, allowing one unearned run in 1.2 innings of relief.
