South Florida's Run Ends at Austin Super Regional

AUSTIN, Texas -- South Florida's impressive postseason run ended Sunday night, June 14, as the Bulls fell to Texas, 12-4, in the second game of the Austin Super Regional. The Longhorns (47-15) advanced to the Men's College World Series after sweeping the best-of-3 series, 2-0.

The Bulls (31-30) were led by Jarrett Eaton, who had three hits, scoreed two runs and drove in two more. South Florida advanced to the Super Regional after winning the American Athletic Conference Baseball Championship and the Gainesville Regional. It was the Bulls' first Super Regional appearance. 

USF jumped out to an early 2-0 lead when Eaton singled home two runs, but Texas responded with four runs in the top of the second inning to chase South Florida starter Collin Sullivan (3-4). The Longhorns would add two in the third and two in the fifth to break open the game. 

Tristan Stevens (11-3) earned the win for Texas, allowing four runs in 5.2 innings.
