East Carolina Advances to Super Regionals

East Carolina advanced to the Super Regionals after defeating Maryland, 9-6, in the Greenville Regional final Sunday night (June 6) in the 2021 NCAA Baseball Championship.

South Florida's game against South Alabama in the Gainesville Regional final was suspending in the fifth inning with USA leading, 4-0. The game will be restarted Monday, June 7 at noon ET.

Josh Moylan and Zach Agnos each drove in three runs as East Carolina defeated Maryland, 9-6, to advance to its sixth Super Regional in program history.

The Pirates advance to take on Vanderbilt in the Super Regionals June 11-13 in Nashville, Tenn.

It is the fifth time a team from The American has reached the Super Regionals (East Carolina, 2016, 2019 - Houston, 2014 - Louisville, 2014). 

Cam Colmore (7-1) earned the win, while Matt Bridges recorded the final four outs for his fifth save of the season.

The Pirates (44-15) scored in each of the first four innings before the Terps (33-18) pulled within one in the bottom of the fifth inning at 5-4. ECU added three big insurance runs in the eighth, highlighted by an Agnos 2-run double. 

Connor Staine (0-3) took the loss after allowing three runs in 1.2 innings of work.
