IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly women’s volleyball honors, for the week ending Sunday, August 29.
 
Offensive Player of the Week
Elizabeth Orf * R-Sr. * MH * Memphis
Orf was a standout for Memphis in three straight-set sweeps in tournament play at Georgia State, powering The American with a conference-high .549 hitting percentage. Orf added the third-most points per set (4.33) and fourth-most kills per set (3.67) in the league for the week. In Memphis’ season debut against California Baptist on Aug. 27, Orf hit .625 with six total blocks and no attack errors in a sweep. Later in the day against Chattanooga, Orf logged a .682 hitting percentage with 16 kills over three sets.
 
Defensive Player of the Week
Lily Liekweg * So. * L/DS * Wichita State
Liekweg played a key role in a 3-0 debut weekend for Wichita State, ranking second in The American with 5.18 digs per set and eighth with 0.36 services aces per frame to open the season. In a three-set sweep of Missouri State on Aug. 27, Liekweg recorded 16 digs, a pair of assists and a service ace. Against UT Martin later that day, Liekweg posted 24 digs, seven assists and three aces in a sweep. Liekweg closed the weekend with 17 digs to defeat host Arkansas State on Aug. 28.

Enjoyed a dynamic collegiate debut weekend for 3-0 Tulane, ranking third in The American with 4.33 points per set and ninth with a .364 hitting percentage; hit .412 with nine kills against Alabama A&M (Aug. 27) and finished with 15 kills on a .444 hitting percentage with six digs against California (Aug. 28)
 
Falanika Danielson * Fr. * L * Temple
Led The American with 5.42 digs per set and 65 total digs in three home matches for Temple; logged 26 digs in a five-set win against Rider (Aug. 27) and added 22 digs later in the day against Delaware (Aug. 27)
 
Kate Georgiades * So. * DS/L * Houston
Ranked fourth in The American with 4.21 digs per set after notching 59 total digs for 3-0 Houston; racked up 26 digs, five assists and three aces in four sets against Oregon State (Aug. 28) before adding 18 digs against Oklahoma (Aug. 28)
 
Hannah Jacobs * Sr. * OH * SMU
Posted the second-most points per set (4.35) in the conference during a 2-1 SMU weekend; hit .611 with 13 kills in a sweep of Pacific (Aug. 27) and added 11 kills on .400 hitting later in the day against Stephen F. Austin (Aug. 27)
 
McKenna Melville * Sr. * OH * UCF
Conference leader with 5.40 points per set for UCF in a competitive first weekend; recorded 19 kills, six total blocks and six digs against Georgia Tech (Aug. 27) and chipped in 14 kills and six digs in a sweep of St. John’s (Aug. 28)
