Houston's Edwards, Temple's White Earn Weekly Honors

IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly men’s basketball honors for the 10th week of the season.
 
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Kyler Edwards, Sr., G, Houston
Edwards helped lead the short-handed Cougars to a road victory at Tulsa on Saturday night, Jan. 15, with a career-high 29 points. The senior guard played all but eight seconds in the win, making seven 3-pointers while also adding three assists.
 
FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
Jahlil White, G, Temple
White posted his first collegiate double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds in the Owls’ win at Tulsa. The guard was 3-of-4 from the field and aided Temple to its first win at Tulsa in program history.
 
HONOR ROLL
David DeJulius, Sr., G, Cincinnati
DeJulius averaged 12.5 points, 2.5 assists and 2.5 rebounds in wins over East Carolina on Wednesday, Jan. 12 and at Wichita State on Sunday, Jan. 16.
 
Vance Jackson, Sr., G, East Carolina
Jackson averaged 26.0 points and 8.0 rebounds in a 1-1 week for the Pirates. He recorded a career-high 35 points at Cincinnati and posted 17 points and 7 rebounds in a 1-point win over Memphis on Saturday, Jan. 15.
 
Kendric Davis, Sr., G, SMU
Davis aided the Mustangs to a 2-0 week and into second place in The American’s standings by averaging 20.5 points and 4.5 assists.
 
Nick Jourdain, Fr., G, Temple
Jourdain had a career day in the Owls’ win at Tulsa with 23 points, five rebounds, three blocks and two steals.
 
Jalen Cook, Fr., G, Tulane
Cook averaged 20.5 points, 3.5 rebounds and 3.0 assists in a 1-1 week for the Green Wave.
