UCF, Cincinnati, Tulsa Earn Weekly Honors

IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly women’s soccer awards for the eighth week of the 2022 season.
 
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Paige Miller, So., M, Cincinnati
Miller scored three goals in two matches last week. The sophomore scored the opening goal in a 1-1 draw at Tulsa on Thursday night before scoring a brace in the Bearcats’ 3-1 win over Temple on Sunday.
 
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Georgia Eaton-Collins, Sr., D, UCF
Eaton-Collins led the Knight backline to a pair of shutout wins last week, including a 1-0 victory over SMU on Sunday where the UCF defense did not allow a single shot on goal.
 
GOALKEEPER OF THE WEEK
Caroline DeLisle, R-Sr., UCF
DeLisle recorded a pair of clean sheets last week in two UCF wins, including five saves in a 2-0 win at Temple on Thursday night.
 
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Tatum Sanders, GK, Tulsa
Sanders made 10 saves over two matches. The freshman had seven stops in a 1-1 draw against Cincinnati on Thursday before making three saves in a 3-0 shutout of Houston on Sunday.
 
HONOR ROLL
Mallory Olsson, Sr., F, UCF
Olsson scored both goals for the Knights in a 2-0 win at Temple on Thursday.
 
Haylee Spray, Jr., M/D, Memphis
Spray scored a goal in the Tigers’ 4-0 win over East Carolina on Sunday, while aiding the defense to only allow one shot on goal.
 
Sydney Martinez, Sr., GK, South Florida
Martinez made five saves in South Florida’s 2-1 win over Memphis on Thursday.
 
Serita Thurton, So., F/M, South Florida
Thurton scored the Bulls’ first goal in the 44th minute in a 2-1 come-from-behind victory over Memphis.
 
Isold Runarsdottir, Sr., M, Tulsa
Runarsdottir scored a goal in each of Tulsa’s matches last week. She scored a game-tying penalty in a draw against Cincinnati and recorded the Golden Hurricane’s second goal in a 3-0 victory over Houston.
