PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The Temple Owls got back in the win column on Tuesday, taking down Stony Brook 2-0 at the Temple Sports Complex.
 
The Owls come out firing, needing just 13 seconds to get on the board as Fabian Grant took a pass from Sean Karani and fired it past the Stony Brook goalkeeper for the first goal of the match.
 
In the 25th minute, Temple would add their second goal off the foot of Sawyer Koza to give the Owls a commanding 2-0 lead.
 
Both teams got off plenty of shots in the match with Temple leading 16-14. Though the total shots were high, Temple held Stony Brook to just three shots on goal, while the Owls had eight.
 
UAB 0, Campbell 0 – Box Score
BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Neither side was able to generate many chances as UAB men's soccer (3-7-3) played to a scorelesss draw with Campbell (8-3-4) in the Blazers' final non-conference match of the season. Lukas Betz started in goal for UAB, making four saves on the night to keep the Fighting Camels off the board.
 
Betz set the tone right away with a spectacular diving save in the 12th minute to turn away a strong header from the home side. Late in the first half, Betz made a leaping save to turn away another scoring opportunity for Campbell.
 
UAB's best chance of the night came in the 61st minute off a corner. Owen Travis was able to connect on a header, but Campbell's keeper Edu Rodriguez was able to push it over the bar.
 
The Fighting Camels created a pair of late chances to take the lead in the last 20 minutes. Gerard Broussard was one-on-one with Lukas Betz in front of the UAB goal, but Betz was able to turn his shot away to keep it tied. In the 82nd minute, the ball fell to Daniel Hernandez with an open net, but his shot deflected off the post. Carson Pina's rebound attempt sailed high over the goal for a goal kick.
 
Memphis 1, Lipscomb 1 – Box Score
MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Memphis Tigers battled tough with 12th ranked Lipscomb on Tuesday night, ending in a 1-1 draw.
 
Despite getting off 24 shots, Lipscomb got just five shots on goal, while the Tigers were able to get three on goal in six shots.
 
Lipscomb took the lead early, using a goal from Hayes Wood in the 13th minute to take a 1-0 lead that would remain until the final thirty seconds of the match.
 
In the 89th minute, freshman Alberto Cruz scored the game-tying goal to make the score 1-1.
 
FGCU 2, Florida Atlantic 1 – Box Score
FORT MYERS, Fla. – Florida Atlantic University men's soccer dropped a 2-1 decision to Florida Gulf Coast on Tuesday night. This was the Owls' final non-conference match of the regular season.
 
FGCU got off to a fast start with the opening goal in the 4th minute. The remainder of the first half played out evenly with shot attempts (5-4 FGCU) and shots on goal (3-2 FGCU) slightly favoring the Eagles.
 
The Owls took control of the play after halftime, dominating possession for long stretches and launching shot after shot at the FGCU goal. They would eventually be rewarded in the 84th minute. On a free kick from the left flank, Spencer Mallion's delivery into the six-yard box caromed into the path of freshman Yuval Oren. Oren poked into the far corner for his first career goal to tie the match.
 
The draw would not last long however, as FGCU capitalized on a free kick of their own just four minutes later. Despite attempting eight shots in the second half with six on goal, the Owls ultimately fell short on the final score line.
 
Axel Hofmann finished with two saves in goal for FAU. Zach Hassell led in shots attempted (4) and shots on goal (3). Fritz Kleiner also assisted on the Owls' goal. He and Mallion are tied for the team lead with three assists for the season.
