Tulsa's Power, Cincinnati's Walker Named Cross Country Athletes of the Week

IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly cross country awards for the weeks ending Sunday, October 9 and Sunday, October 16.
 
Men’s Athlete of the Week
Micheal Powers, R-Sr. Tulsa
Competing against 17 of the top ranked USTFCCCA teams in the country, Powers helped guide the Golden Hurricane to a sixth-place finish at the Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational. Powers navigated the 8k championship course in 23:25.2 to pace Tulsa and finish 11th overall in the field of 245 runners.
 
Women’s Athlete of the Week
Maddie Walker, Sr. - Cincinnati
Walker finished 18th overall out of a field of 306 runners the Bradley Pink Classic in Peoria, Illinois. She navigated the 6k course in 20:44.1 to pace Cincinnati. She set a personal-best 6k time and has been the team’s top scorer in every race this season.
