UCF, Cincinnati Earn Weekly Honors

IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly women’s soccer awards for the penultimate week of the 2022 regular season.
 
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Kristen Scott, Sr., F, UCF
Scott scored the game-winning goal in the Knights’ 1-0 win over Houston on Sunday that clinched the American Athletic Conference regular season crown for UCF. Scott assisted on the game-winning goal in a 1-0 win against East Carolina on Thursday.
 
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Olivia Lewis, Sr., D, UCF
Lewis helped the Knight backline to a pair of clean sheets with only one shot on goal allowed in each match. The senior also scored the game-winning goal from outside the box against East Carolina on Thursday.
 
GOALKEEPER OF THE WEEK
Anna Rexford, Jr., Cincinnati
Rexford earned a pair of shutout wins and made seven saves over two matches. She recorded six saves in a 2-0 win over Houston on Thursday before making one save in a 1-0 victory over South Florida.
 
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Megan Smith, F/M, Cincinnati
Smith scored the game-winning goal for the Bearcats in the 42nd minute in a 2-0 win over Houston on Thursday.
 
HONOR ROLL
Brandi Thomsen, Gr., M, Cincinnati
Thomsen scored the lone goal in the Bearcats’ win over South Florida on Sunday.
 
Carsen Parker, Gr., F/D, East Carolina
Parker scored a brace in the Pirates’ 2-1 win at Temple on Sunday to clinch a spot in the conference tournament.
 
Saorla Miller, Sr., F, Memphis
Miller scored two goals and added an assist in Memphis’ 5-2 win over Tulsa on Thursday.
 
Julissa Cisneros, Gr., F, SMU
Cisneros scored the second goal for the Mustangs in the 51st minute in a 2-0 win over Tulsa to clinch a berth for the conference championship.
 
Tatum Sutherland, R-Jr., GK, SMU
Sutherland made two saves and recorded a shutout in SMU’s 2-0 win over Tulsa.
