UCF, Houston SMU Take Home Final Weekly Honors of the Season

IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly women’s soccer awards for the final matches of the 2022 regular season.
 
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Julissa Cisneros, Gr., F, SMU
Cisneros scored the game-winning goal with 15 seconds remaining as the Mustangs came from behind to defeat Memphis, 2-1, on Thursday night.
 
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Emma Clarke, Sr., D, Houston
Clarke anchored the Cougar backline that only allowed three shots on goal in a 3-0 shutout of Temple Thursday night in Houston.
 
GOALKEEPER OF THE WEEK
Caroline DeLisle, R-Sr., UCF
DeLisle recorded six saves and a clean sheet as the Knights defeated in-state rival South Florida, 2-0, Thursday night in Tampa.
 
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Haley Woodward, GK, Houston
Woodward made three saves to earn a shutout in the Cougars’ 3-0 win over Temple.
 
HONOR ROLL
Katie Bradley, Jr., M, UCF
Bradley scored the second goal in UCF’s win over South Florida, curving a free kick around the wall and into the corner of the net in the 66th minute.
 
Dayana Martin, R-Sr., F, UCF
Martin dribbled through the South Florida defense and fired in a goal from outside the box in the 16th minute of UCF’s 2-0 win over the Bulls.
 
Anna Rexford, Jr., GK, Cincinnati
Rexford recorded two saves and a shutout in a scoreless draw with East Carolina in Greenville.
 
Maeve English, Jr., GK, East Carolina
English made four saves and earned a clean sheet in a 0-0 tie with Cincinnati.
 
Janna Singleton, Sr., F, Houston
Singleton scored a pair of goals in the Cougars’ 3-0 win over Temple.
