Tulsa opened the third set by winning five of the first six rallies to take a 5-1 lead, but UCF quickly answered to trim the score to 8-7 following a kill from Claudia Dillon. After an attacking error to make it 22-21, the Golden Hurricane scored three consecutive points to earn the first set win against the Knights since Oct. 7 – a span of five matches without dropping a set.

Wichita State 3, South Florida 0 – Box Score
WICHITA, Kan. - Wichita State hit a season-best .353 and recorded 11 blocks, smothering South Florida 25-15, 25-19, 25-7 on Friday night at Charles Koch Arena.

Three Shockers reached double-digit kills, as Brylee Kelly and Natalie Foster each notched 11 and Sophia Rohling chipped in with ten. The trio hit .450, .611 and .529, respectively, helping the Shockers to a season-best .738 (31-42) sideout percentage.

Wichita State (11-10, 6-4) steadily built a comfortable cushion in the opening set, using a trio of mini 3-0 runs to extend the lead to 17-10. The Bulls (7-14, 1-8) crawled back to within 18-14, but kills from Foster, Kayce Litzau and Brylee Kelly, combined with a South Florida setting error, ballooned the advantage to 22-14. A Litzau ace a few points later secured the set for the Black and Yellow.

Rohling's five kills in the second set were pivotal in fending off a late charge from South Florida, who fell into a 16-7 hole but trimmed the Wichita State lead to 20-17 on a kill from Marta Cvitkovic. Following a WSU timeout, the Shockers got a kill from Kelly and a Foster service ace to reestablish command of the set, then put the Bulls away after a Cvitkovic error and another Rohling kill.

The third stanza was perhaps the most dominant set of the season for Wichita State, holding an opponent to single-digits for the first time this season outside of the fifth set. Kelly, Foster and Rohling combined for 11 kills without making an attack error, and the Shockers tacked on four more blocks to equal their season-high in a three-set match this season. Leading 6-4, Wichita State exploded for an 11-0 run that two South Florida timeouts failed to squelch. The flurry included three kills from Foster, two from Kelly, and three consecutive Cvitkovic errors to provide WSU with a commanding 17-4 lead. Morgan Stout put the exclamation point on the proceedings with a highlight-reel double block late in the set, and Rohling polished it off with her tenth kill for a 25-7 win.

Litzau handed out 27 assists to go along with eight digs and two service aces, while Morgan Weber led the Shockers with 13 digs to go along with four kills.
