UCF Sweeps Volleyball Weekly Awards

IRVING, Texas The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly volleyball awards for the week ending Sunday, October 30.
 
Offensive Player of the Week
McKenna Melville, Gr., OH, UCF
Melville had another outstanding performance for the Knights, finishing both matches with over 20 kills. She averaged 6.25 points per set, 5.88 kills per set and hit .308 in wins over Tulsa and Wichita State. She also added four combined blocks in the two matches.
 
Defensive Player of the Week
Abby Hansen, Sr., MB, UCF
Hansen anchored the front line for the Knights in wins over Tulsa and Wichita State. She averaged 2.00 blocks per set, finishing with seven against Tulsa and nine against Wichita State.
 
Weekly Honor Roll
 
Abbie Jackson, Sr., OH, Houston
Jackson hit .389 in wins over Temple and East Carolina. The outside hitter averaged 4.67 points per set and had double-digit kills in both matches.
 
Bailey Houlihan, Jr., L, Memphis
Houlihan was all over the court for Memphis, finishing the weekend with 9.00 digs per set. She had 29 digs against SMU and 25 in the win over Cincinnati.
 
Alex Glover, MB, Sr., SMU
Glover was a force for the Mustangs at the net, averaging 1.17 blocks per set in the two wins over Memphis and Cincinnati.
 
Marieke van der Mark, Gr., OPP, SMU
Van der Mark had double-digit kills in the two sweeps for SMU. She averaged 4.33 kills per set and hit .400 on the week.   
 
Sophia Rohling, Jr., OPP, Wichita State
Rohling helped guide the Shockers to a win over South Florida, averaging 3.86 points per set and 1.00 blocks per set for the week.
