UNCASVILLE, Conn. (AP) — Khalif Battle scored 24 points, Jamille Reynolds had 17 points and nine rebounds, and Temple beat Rutgers 72-66 on Friday night in the Basketball Hall of Fame Showcase.

Battle scored 13 points in the first half and didn’t score after halftime until the 10:02 mark, but Temple was able to keep its double-digit lead until Rutgers used a 7-0 run to get within 51-45 with 6:57 left.

Rutgers got as close as four points, 70-66, down the stretch but Hysier Miller sealed it with two free throws.

Miller had 12 points and 10 assists and Zach Hicks scored 10 for Temple (2-2), which rebounded from its second overtime loss in three games. Damian Dunn, who leads the nation in scoring at 29.3 points per game, was held to seven points on 1-of-6 shooting.

Temple led 38-23 at the break as Rutgers was 7-of-24 shooting (29%) with nine turnovers.

Clifford Omoruyi had 21 points and 11 rebounds, and Cam Spencer scored 17 for Rutgers (3-1). Aundre Hyatt added 13 points.

NASSAU, Bahamas (AP) — C.J. Kelly scored 18 points, Ithiel Horton hit the go-ahead 3-pointer in overtime, and UCF defeated Oklahoma State 60-56 on Friday night in the Bahamas Championship. The Knights will face the winner of DePaul and Santa Clara in the final on Sunday.

A 3-pointer by Horton gave the Knights a 55-54 lead with 3:51 remaining in overtime. Later, he made 1 of 2 free throws for a 58-56 lead with 18 seconds to go. The two-point lead stood up when Oklahoma State missed twice at the rim — one of them a block by C.J. Walker — and John-Michael Wright missed a jumper. Kelly made two free throws with less than a second remaining for the final margin.

The Cowboys used an 11-0 run to take charge in the first half, leading by as much as 15 points. Their halftime lead was 28-17. Oklahoma State would lead by 15 again — 34-19— before UCF rallied. The Knights led for only 6:22, including overtime.

Taylor Hendricks added 16 points and 12 rebounds for the Knights (3-1).

Moussa Cisse led Oklahoma State (2-2) with 14 points and 14 rebounds. Avery Anderson had 12 points, six rebounds and five assists, and Kalib Boone added 10 points.

Charlotte 68, Tulsa 65 - Box Score
CONWAY, S.C. (AP) — Aly Khalifa had 14 points in Charlotte’s 68-65 victory against Tulsa on Friday night in the semifinals of the Myrtle Beach Invitational.

Tim Dalger made a 3-pointer for Tulsa to cap the scoring with 16 seconds remaining. The Golden Hurricane had the final possession, but Igor Milicic Jr. blocked Sam Griffin’s 3-point attempt to end it.

Khalifa added eight rebounds and six assists for the 49ers (4-0). Lu’Cye Patterson scored 14 points, going 5 of 8 and 3 of 4 from the free-throw line. Jackson Threadgill was 5-of-12 shooting (0 for 4 from distance) to finish with 10 points.

Griffin led the Golden Hurricane (2-2) in scoring, finishing with 21 points. Anthony Pritchard added 13 points and four assists for Tulsa. Dalger also had 13 points.

Patterson put up nine points in the first half for Charlotte, who led 40-27 at the break. Charlotte was outscored by 10 points in the second half but held on for the victory. Khalifa led the way with eight second-half points.
