DALLAS, Texas – The SMU Mustangs men’s soccer team fell in the second round of the NCAA Championship to Vermont 3-2 on Sunday night.
The Mustangs fall to 13-5-1 on the season with the loss.
SMU jumped out to an early lead as their offense scored two goals in the first half. American Offensive Player of the Year Knut Ahlander found American Rookie of the Year Alexander Petraeus in the 4
th minute to score the first goal of the match.
In the 31
st minute, Bailey Sparks added a second goal for the Mustangs, being assisted by Petraeus.
Vermont came roaring back in the second half, scoring three goals in the 64
