Cincinnati 71, Lindenwood 60 - Box Score
ST. CHARLES, MO. – Jillian Hayes turned in her fifth career double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds to lead the University of Cincinnati women's basketball team to a 71-60 win over Lindenwood on Monday night inside Hyland Arena.
 
With the win, Cincinnati earns their first road win of the season and improves to 3-2.
Mya Jackson finished in double figures for the fifth straight game with 13 points and a team-high four assists, while Jadyn Scott turned in a season-high eight points, seven of which came in the first half.
 
After the Lions cut the deficit to two at the midway point of the second quarter, Cincinnati responded with a 6-0 run over a two-minute stretch, while holding their opponents scoreless for 4:24 of action to open their largest lead before the break at 35-27. Hayes added a layup in traffic with 42 seconds remaining before half as the Bearcats took a 37-30 lead into the locker room.
 
The Bearcats forced 12 first-half turnovers and converted them into 15 points in the opening half.
 
Lindenwood would continue to chip away throughout the second half, cutting the deficit to 52-48 early in the fourth quarter. Cincinnati countered with a 10-0 burst that was sparked by a steal and and-one finish by Jackson that gave the Bearcats' their largest lead of the game at 64-50.
 
The margin would not get any closer than six as the Bearcats battled to the eventual final.
 
Cincinnati led for 34:19 minutes and dominated the offensive glass throughout the night, possessing a 17-10 advantage for 17 second chance points. The Bearcats converted on 18-23 from the free throw line for a season-high 78.3 percent.
 
Cincinnati remains on the road to compete in the Daytona Beach Invitational on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 25-26 in Daytona Beach, Fla. The Bearcats will face two teams who competed in the 2022 NCAA Tournament in UT Arlington and Charlotte.
