UCF's Melville, Wichita State's Stout Claim Final Weekly Volleyball Honors

IRVING, Texas The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s final weekly volleyball awards for the 2022 season for the week ending Sunday, November 27.
 
Offensive Player of the Week
McKenna Melville, Gr., OH, UCF
Melville helped the Knight claim a share of The American championship with a 2-0 week. Melville averaged nearly seven points per set (6.94) and 6.50 kills per set, while hitting .221 on the week. She became the 10th player in NCAA Division I history to reach 2,500 career kills.
 
Defensive Player of the Week
Morgan Stout, R-So., MB, Wichita State
Stout finished the week averaging 1.78 blocks per set as the Shockers defeated SMU and Memphis on the road. She had 10 blocks against the Mustangs and added six more against the Tigers. Stout also added 1.89 kills per set for Wichita State.
 
Weekly Honor Roll
 
Amber Olson, Gr., S, UCF
Olson paced the Knights with 13.88 assists per set which included two matches with over 50 assists. Olson reached the 3,800 career-assist mark over the weekend.
 
Payton Frederick, Sr., L, Cincinnati
Frederick averaged 6.33 digs per set for the Bearcats, finishing with 19 digs in wins against East Carolina and Temple.
 
Jadyn Bauss, Sr., OH, SMU
Bauss averaged 4.94 points per set and 4.00 kills per set for the Mustangs, while hitting .342. She added 2.86 digs per set and six aces.
 
Melissa Kolurbasi, Gr., OH, Tulane
Kolurbasi hit .373 on the week while scoring 4.50 points per set and 4.17 kills per set.  She had 13 kills and hit .324 against No. 23 UCF.
 
Kayley Cassaday, Jr., OH, Tulsa
Cassaday averaged 5.43 points per et and 5.29 kills per set for the Golden Hurricane while hitting .232 on the week. She had 26 kills in the 3-1 win over Memphis.
