UCF's Melville, Houston's Tullos Take Home Volleyball Honors

IRVING, Texas The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly volleyball awards for the week ending Sunday, November 6.
 
Offensive Player of the Week
McKenna Melville, Gr., OH, UCF
Melville kept the Knights on track in The American as the outside hitter finished the week with 6.79 points per set, 6.00 kills per set and hit .388 on the week. In the four-set victory over SMU, she set a season-high with 29 kills while hitting .418.
 
Defensive Player of the Week
Rachel Tullos, Sr., MB, Houston
Tullos was a force at the net for the Cougars, finishing the week with 1.67 blocks per set in wins over Tulane and Cincinnati. She had four blocks against Tulane and followed that up with a six-block performance against the Bearcats.
 
Weekly Honor Roll
 
Angeles Alderete, Fr., OH, East Carolina
Alderete averaged 5.63 points per set for the Pirates while hitting .243.  She had over twenty kills against Wichita State and Tulsa.
 
Abbie Jackson, Sr., OH, Houston
Jackson led the Cougars to a 2-0 weekend as she averaged 5.33 points per set and hit .296 in wins over Tulane and Cincinnati. She also broke the program record for career service aces.
 
London Austin-Roark, Gr., MB, SMU
Austin-Roark finished the week with 1.57 blocks per set. The middle blocker had an impressive nine blocks against UCF.
 
Kayley Cassaday, Sr., OH, Tulsa
Cassaday scored 5.56 points per set for the Golden Hurricane in matches against Temple and East Carolina. She had 24 kills and hit .442 in the win over the Owls.   
 
Natalie Foster, So., MB, Wichita State
Foster hit .439 on the week and averaged 4.50 points per set for the Shockers to led her team to wins over East Carolina and Temple.
