Memphis' Davis, UCF's Hendricks Earn Weekly Honors

IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly men’s basketball honors for the fifth week of the season.
 
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Kendric Davis, Sr., G, Memphis
Davis helped lead the Tigers to a win over then-No. 11/14 Auburn in Atlanta with a complete performance, recording a game-high 27 points, nine rebounds and six assists. In two wins last week, the guard averaged 17.5 points and 5.0 assists.
 
FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
Taylor Hendricks, F, UCF
Hendricks becomes the first player in The American’s history to be named Freshman of the Week four consecutive weeks. The forward was 6-of-7 from the field and scored 16 points to go along with nine rebounds in the Knights’ win over Tarleton State.
 
HONOR ROLL
Ithiel Horton, R-Sr., G, UCF
Horton scored 15 points in the UCF win over Tarleton State, including three 3-pointers.
 
David DeJulius, Gr., G, Cincinnati
DeJulius scored 22 points in the Crosstown Shootout against Xavier, with 17 of them coming after halftime.
 
Javon Small, So., G, East Carolina
Small averaged 20 points in two games for the Pirates last week, including a double-double of 21 points and 10 assists in a win over Coppin State.
 
Jalen Cook, So., G, Tulane
Cook recorded 21 points and eight assists in the Green Wave’s win over Buffalo in Atlanta.
 
Jaykwon Walton, Jr., G, Wichita State
Walton posted 18 points and eight rebounds in the Shockers’ win over Longwood.
