IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly men’s basketball honors for the sixth week of the season.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Kendric Davis, Sr., G, Memphis
Davis averaged 26.5 points and 7.0 assists in two games for the Tigers last week. The guard recorded 30 points and five assists in a 3-point loss at then-No. 4 Alabama on Tuesday night before dropping 23 points and nine assists in a win over Texas A&M on Saturday evening.
FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
Jarace Walker, F, Houston
Walker averaged 13.0 points and 5.5 rebounds in two Cougar wins last week. In a victory over then-No. 2 Virginia in Charlottesville, the forward recorded 17 points, seven rebounds and four assists.
HONOR ROLL
C.J. Kelly, Sr., G, UCF
Kelly averaged 18.0 points and 6.0 rebounds in two games for the Knights.
David DeJulius, Gr., G, Cincinnati
DeJulius helped lead the Bearcats to a pair of wins by averaging 19.5 points and 2.5 steals.
RJ Felton, So., G, East Carolina
Felton recorded 21 points and was 8-of-13 from the field in the Pirates’ win over South Carolina in a neutral-site contest in Greenville, S.C.
Marcus Sasser, Sr., G, Houston
Sasser averaged 15.0 points, 2.5 assists, 2.0 steals and 2.0 rebounds in two wins for the Cougars.
Russel Tchewa, Jr., C, South Florida
Tchewa shot 90 percent from the field (9-10) in a 2-0 week for the Bulls, averaging 10.5 points and 8.0 rebounds.
