All-America Status for American Athletic Conference Players

IRVING, Texas - Five American Athletic Conference football players have been named to the major postseason All-America teams that comprise the NCAA Consensus All-America selection process.

Cincinnati linebacker Ivan Pace Jr., The American's Defensive Player of the Year, has been named to the first team on the Walter Camp, Football Writers Association of America, Associated Press and Sporting News teams.

SMU wide receiver Rashee Rice and Houston wide receiver Nathaniel Dell were both second-team selections on the Walter Camp All-America team. Rice was also a second-team selection to the FWAA and Associated Press teams, while Dell earned second-team honors from Sporting News and joined Cincinnati defensive tackle Dontay Corleone and Bearcats punter Mason Fletcher as Associated Press third-team selections.

Pace leads The American with 120 tackles and 19.5 tackles for loss and is second among conference players with 9.0 sacks. 

Rice and Dell have had remarkably similar seasons. Rice leads The American with 1,355 receiving yards, one more thatn Dell's 1,354. Dell leads the conference with 103 receptions and 15 touchdown catches, while Rice has 96 receptions with 10 TDs.
