South Florida’s Mununga Named Women’s Basketball Week 15 Player Of The Week

IRVING, Texas The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly women’s basketball honors, for the week ending Sunday, February 20.
 
Player of the Week
Bethy Mununga * Sr. * F * South Florida
Mununga erupted for 22 points and 15 rebounds while playing all 40 minutes for South Florida in a 54-45 win against Cincinnati on Feb. 16. Mununga added four steals in the victory and shot 7-of-14 (.500) from the floor, hit 8-of-12 shots at the free-throw line and pulled down six offensive rebounds for the Bulls against the Bearcats.

Averaged 11.0 points, 7.5 rebounds and 2.0 steals per game while shooting 58.8 percent from the field in a 2-0 UCF week; scored eight points and added eight rebounds against Wichita State (Feb. 16) and logged 14 points, seven rebounds and three steals at Temple (Feb. 19)
 
Taniyah Thompson * Jr. * G * East Carolina
Registered 25.0 points and 5.0 rebounds per contest in a 1-1 East Carolina road trip; scored 28 points to lead the way in a loss at Houston (Feb. 16) and posted 22 points and eight boards in a victory at Cincinnati (Feb. 19)

Averaged 19.5 points, 2.5 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game for 1-1 Houston; scored 16 points and dished out seven assists against East Carolina (Feb. 16) and scored 23 points in a loss at Tulane (Feb. 20)

Registered 19.0 points, 5.5 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game in a 1-1 SMU week; scored 18 points and added eight rebounds, five assists and two steals in a win at Tulsa (Feb. 19)

Scored 14.5 points and pulled down 10.5 rebounds with 3.0 assists per game in two Tulane wins; logged 16 points with nine rebounds at Tulsa (Feb. 16) before posting 13 points, 12 boards, three assists and two steals against Houston (Feb. 20)
