TULSA, Okla. -- (AP) — Vance Jackson scored 22 points and his 3-pointer with 24 seconds left carried East Carolina to a 73-71 win over Tulsa on Tuesday night.
Tulsa's Darien Jackson missed a layup on the ensuing possession which allowed the Pirates to hang on for the victory.
Tremont Robinson-White had 13 points and six assists for East Carolina (12-11, 3-8 American Athletic Conference), which snapped its six-game losing streak. Brandon Suggs added six assists and five steals.
East Carolina scored a season-high 46 points after halftime.
Jeriah Horne had 18 points for the Golden Hurricane (7-15, 1-10). Rey Idowu added 15 points. Darien Jackson had 13 points and six rebounds.

ORLANDO - Senior guard Brandon Mahan scored 19 points, including the Knights' final nine points, a 4-point play with less than four minutes to play and the game clinching 3-point play with 27 seconds left on the clock, as the UCF defeated Wichita State, 71-66, late Tuesday night at Addition Financial Arena.
Mahan finished 6-of-10 from the floor and 5-of-5 from the free throw line and added nine rebounds with two steals as the Knights (14-8, 6-6 American Athletic Conference) earned their first win over the Shockers (12-9, 3-6) in nine all-time games since Wichita State joined The American.
Darin Green Jr. knocked down five threes and scored 17 points, while Cheikh Mbacke Diong added 11 points and nine boards, and Darius Perry chipped in with 10 points, including the 1,000th of his career.
Tyson Etienne led the Shockers with 26 points.
