DURHAM, N.C. – Alec Makarewicz and Bryson Worrell each collected three hits while Makarewicz drove in four runs in East Carolina's 12-2 win over Duke Tuesday at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park. With the win the Pirates, who picked up their second-straight victory over an Atlantic Coast Conference member, improves to 3-5 and the Blue Devils drop to 4-4.
With the game knotted at two-all in the sixth inning, Agnos drew an opening frame walk and scored on Worrell's triple to right-center. Lane Hoover followed with a single through the left side easily plating Worrell for a 4-2 lead.
Josh Grosz (1-0) earned his first collegiate win tossing three scoreless frames allowing one hit, one walk with five strikeouts. Starter Nick Logusch tossed a career-high four no-hit innings issuing three walks and striking out five. ECU also got relief outings from Ben Terwilliger (1.0 IP, 2 Rs, 2 Ks) and Danny Beal (1.0 IP, 3 Ks).
Adam Boucher (0-1) took the loss after giving up two runs (both earned) on two hits with two walks and four strikeouts in two innings. Starter Cooper Stinson worked four scoreless innings where he allowed four hits, walked two and struck out four. In all, the Blue Devils used seven pitchers in relief also getting outings from Jonathan Santucci (0.2 IP, 2 Rs), Aaron Beasley (0.1 IP, 1 H), John Natoli (1.0 IP, 2 Rs), Caleb McRoy (0.1 IP, 4 Rs), Oren Abbott (0.1 IP, 2 Rs) and Michael Foltz (0.1 IP).

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Memphis Tigers (5-2) got all they could handle Tuesday from the Alabama A&M Bulldogs (0-6) but persevered through threats in each of the final three innings in a 5-3 win. The Bulldogs stranded the potential tying runs on base in the seventh, at the plate in the eighth, and on base in the ninth.
Two first inning errors by Alabama A&M led to two Memphis runs, as LF Ian Bibiloni scored on a groundout by SS Ben Brooks and DH Jacob Compton scored a fly out turned error off the bat of C Taylor Howell.
In his first Memphis start, RHP Landon Gartman (W, 1-0) gave up a single in each of his first three innings but kept the Bulldogs off the board. After the Tigers got a run in the third on another Alabama A&M error, the Bulldogs pulled within one on a fourth inning two-run home run from C Dillon Roop, as Memphis led 3-2 after 3.5 frames.
The Tigers added a run in the fourth on an RBI double by RF Blake Daniels and another in the fifth as Howell scored on a wild pitch, as Memphis led 5-2 after five innings

ORLANDO -- UCF moved to 7-1 on the season with a 5-3 home victory over Stetson at John Euliano Park.
Four Knights picked up two hits each, including Ben McCabe who drove in two runs and Alex Freeland who scored twice.
After Stetson (4-4) scored in the top of the first, the Knights answered with two in the bottom of the first and scored a run in the second and third.
Ruddy Gomez (1-0) picked up the victory as the Knights used six pitchers. Ben Vespi earned his second save with a scoreless ninth.

TAMPA – The University of South Florida (5-2) pitching staff turned in its first shutout of the season and the Bulls' offense remained hot in a 7-0 victory over FIU (7-3) on Tuesday night at USF Baseball Stadium.
Orion Kerkering, Joseph Sanchez and Devin Hemenway combined to blank the FIU Panthers while allowing just five total hits and striking out 11 batters. Making his second career start, and first of the season, Kerkering (1-1) matched a career high with nine strikeouts over the longest outing of his career (5.1 IP). He also struck out nine batters in his first relief appearance this season against UConn (4.0 IP).
Carmine Lane staked Kerkering to an early 1-0 lead with his first of two RBI-doubles on the night in the bottom of the first inning. Drew Brutcher made it a 2-0 game with a sac fly in the second frame and the Bulls tacked on two more runs in the third for a 4-0 advantage.
Brutcher's RBI-single in the fourth inning made it a 5-0 ballgame before Lane struck again with a run-scoring double in the seventh for a 6-0 lead. Bobby Boser connected on his first collegiate home run in the eighth inning to cap the scoring.

HAMMOND, La. – The Tulane University baseball team picked up its third straight win in convincing fashion, as it posted a 23-1 victory over in-state rival Southeastern Wednesday night at Alumni Field.
With the win, Tulane improved to 7-1 overall and 4-1 against teams from the state of Louisiana.
The Green Wave's 23-run explosion marked team's highest scoring output since Tulane plated 24 runs against Marist in 2005. Tulane surpassed 20 runs for just the fifth time in the last 10 years. Three of those 20-run performances have come under Jewett.
Offensively, Tulane collected 16 hits, drew 10 walks and smacked eight doubles. The Green Wave's eight doubles fell just one shy of tying the program record.
Reigning American Athletic Conference Player of the Week Ethan Groff led the way offensively for the Green Wave, as he finished the night by going 5-for-6 at the plate with two doubles and three singles. His five hits, five runs scored, two doubles and four RBI were all career highs for the Orlando, Florida, native.

HOUSTON – Houston sophomore Skyler Trevino provided the game-winning, RBI-triple with two outs in the eighth inning, unlocking a five-all tie while helping lift the Cougars to a 6-5 victory over Lamar on Tuesday night from Sanders Field at Schroeder Park.
Trevino's game-winner capped a night in which Houston (5-3) dug itself out of an early three-run deficit and a late one-run deficit. The victory was the fifth straight for the Cougars and second multi-run comeback in the last three contests.
Redshirt sophomore Zach Arnold tied things at five on a seventh-inning, RBI-single, scoring a hustling Brandon Uhse from first base. Uhse helped Houston scratch back from an early 3-0 deficit with a two-run home run in the third inning.
Houston pitching worked around 10 Lamar (4-4) hits while permitting just one walk. Derrick Cherry (1-1) earned the relief victory behind a perfect eighth inning. Ben Sears locked down his first save, stranding the tying run at first in the ninth.
Redshirt sophomore Anthony Tulimero continued his hot stretch, upping his average to a team-best .303 with a 2-for-4 performance. The catcher also cut down his seventh runner on the bases in eight total attempts this season.
Reliever Cameron Prayer worked around back-to-back singles to lead off the seventh courtesy of a strikeout, fielder's choice and glove snag on a sharp liner destined for center field with two runners aboard.

TULSA, Okla. – Oral Roberts scored eight times in the bottom of the sixth to erase a 5-3 deficit, knocking off Wichita State 11-6 on Tuesday night at J.L. Johnson Stadium.
Wichita State (2-7) had surged in front in the top of the fifth inning when Sawyre Thornhill crushed a two-out grand slam to left-center, giving the Shockers their first lead of the game at 5-3. But the Golden Eagles (6-2) stormed back in the sixth, as the first nine batters to come to the plate all reached base. Jackson Loftin homered on the first pitch of the inning to make it 5-4, and four batters later Holden Breeze lined a two-run double to left to give Oral Roberts the lead back at 6-5. Alec Jones plated two more with a single of his own, and Justin Quinn capped the frame with a three-run homer to right for an 11-5 lead.
Payton Tolle picked up his first collegiate RBI with a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh that trimmed the deficit to 11-6, but ORU relievers retired the final eight Shockers to nail down the victory.
