Old Dominion, East Carolina, Florida Players Earn Weekly Lacrosse Honors

IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of its weekly women’s lacrosse honors for the week-ending March 14.
 
AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE ATTACK PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Lilly Siskind • Sr. • Old Dominion • West Chester, Pa.

Siskind scored 10 goals and had three assists in the Monarchs’ 1-1 week. She scored four goals with three assists in an 18-1 win at Delaware State and followed that performance with a career-high six goals with three ground balls and a caused turnover in a 17-13 loss to American. Siskind is tied for second among American Athletic Conference players with 29 goals in 2022.
 
AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE MIDFIELDER OF THE WEEK
Nicole LeGar • Gr. • East Carolina • Eldersburg, Md.

LeGar had six goals, six draw controls, three ground balls and two caused turnovers in a 1-1 week as she finished with hat tricks in both games. She had three goals with three draw controls in an 18-8 win at Stetson and had three goals with three ground balls, three draw controls and two caused turnovers in a 14-13 loss to Niagara. LeGar has scored 16 goals with two assists to rank fourth on the Pirates with 18 points this season.
 
AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Emma Wightman • D • Sr. • Florida • Basking Ridge, N.J.

Wightman helped the Gators hold Liberty to six goals in a 12-6 victory as she led a close defense that limited the Flames’ starting attack unit to only goal. She added three caused turnovers in Florida’s 12-9 setback to No. 9 Loyola, helping to hold the unbeaten Greyhounds to their season-low scoring output.

Emma LoPinto • A • Fr. • Florida • Manhasset, N.Y.

LoPinto set a program record for freshmen with five assists to go with four goals in the Gators’ 12-6 win against Liberty. She had a hat trick before two minutes had elapsed in the second quarter and had four first-half goals to stake the Gators to an 8-4 halftime lead. LoPinto added a goal with two ground balls in a 12-9 setback to No. 9 Loyola and ranks second on the team in scoring with 16 goals, seven assists and 23 points in 2022.

Scored eight goals in two games, including a game-high five goals in a loss to Rutgers.
