Florida, Temple, Vanderbilt Players Take Weekly Women's Lacrosse Honors

IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of its weekly women’s lacrosse honors for the week-ending April 10.
 
AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE ATTACK PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Danielle Pavinelli • So. • Florida • Northport, N.Y.

Pavinelli led Florida to a pair of American Athletic Conference wins last week as she had five goals, seven assists, three draw controls and two caused turnovers in the two games. She began the week by figuring in nine goals (4g, 5a) in a 19-12 win at Cincinnati and she followed with a goal and two assists in the first half in a 22-6 win against Old Dominion. Pavinelli leads The American in scoring at 4.85 points per game, with 44 goals and 19 assists.
 
AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE MIDFIELDER OF THE WEEK
Belle Mastropietro • Jr. • Temple • Springfield, Pa.

Mastropietro scored four goals and had four ground balls and two caused turnovers to lead Temple to a 14-10 win against Cincinnati, keeping the Owls unbeaten in American Athletic Conference play. Mastropietro reached a milestone with 100 career goals with her first score, while she finished the week ranked fourth in The American in goals (3.08 per game) and fifth in points (4.15 per game).
 
AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Taylor Sampone • D • So. • Vanderbilt • Rochester, N.Y.

Sampone had an American Athletic Conference-leading six caused turnovers to go with three ground balls in two games. She had four caused turnovers – the most by a player in a conference game this season – with three ground balls in Vanderbilt’s 19-12 win against East Carolina, while she had two caused turnovers in a nonconference loss to Louisville.
 
AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
Emma LoPinto • A • Fr. • Florida • Manhasset, N.Y.

LoPinto earns American Freshman of the Week honors for the sixth consecutive week and the seventh time overall after she scored nine goals with three assists and four ground balls in Florida’s two conference wins. She began the week with five goals and two assists in a 19-12 win at Cincinnati and added four goals and an assist in a 22-6 win against Old Dominion. LoPinto has 37 goals and 24 assists, ranking second in The American with 4.69 points per game.

Scored four goals with three assists, a ground ball and three caused turnovers in a 19-12 win against East Carolina. Had an assist, a draw control and three caused turnovers in a loss to Louisville.
 
Bri Gross • M • Sr. • Vanderbilt • El Dorado Hills, Calif.
Scored four goals with four ground balls, 11 draw controls and three caused turnovers in two games.
