UCF's Mattel Takes Women's Tennis Player of the Week Honors

IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of its weekly men’s and women’s tennis honors for the week-ending April 11.
 
AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE WOMEN’S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Marie Mattel • Jr. • UCF • Le Plessis-Bouchard, France
Mattel went 2-0 in singles play, extending her winning streak to five matches, to help UCF to a pair of wins against nationally ranked American Athletic Conference opponents. She was a 3-6, 6-0, 6-0 winner to lead the Knights to a 4-3 victory against No. 43 SMU, while she followed with a 6-2, 6-0 decision in a 4-0 win against No. 46 Tulsa. Mattel went 1-1 in doubles play, including a win to clinch the doubles point against the Golden Hurricane.
