TAMPA, Fla. – With a consistent offensive performance that saw runs scored in five of their nine trips to the plate, the Memphis Tigers (15-15, 3-5 American) earned their first conference series win with a 7-3 victory Friday over the South Florida Bulls (19-16, 1-7). The Tigers paired the steady offense with solid pitching, as Memphis didn't allow an extra-base hit.
Memphis struck right away, as Zach Wilson led off the game with a double, Logan Kohler followed with a walk, and a single by Ben Brooks loaded the bases with no outs in the first inning against Brad Lord (2-5).
Jacob Compton followed with a bases loaded two-run double, which put Memphis in front 2-0 four batters into the game, a lead the Tigers never relinquished.
After five innings from Dalton Fowler (2-2), Jacob Gilmore worked a scoreless sixth, while Dalton Kendrick (5th save) allowed one run and struck out four over the final three innings, which secured Memphis' 7-3 win.

ORLANDO, Fla. – The East Carolina pitching duo of Jake Kuchmaner and Danny Beal allowed just three hits in a 10-0 shutout of UCF Friday night at John Euliano Park in American Athletic Conference action. With the victory, the Pirates earned a weekend series win and improved to 21-15 overall and 6-2 in league play while the Knights dropped to 21-14 and 5-3.
In a scoreless tie going to the fourth frame, the Pirates pushed across a four runs to take a 4-0 lead. Lane Hoover got things going with a leadoff walk and took third on Josh Moylan's doubled down the right field line. Cam Clonch plated Hoover and Moylan with a single back up the middle before taking third on Jacob Jenkins-Cowart's single down the left field line on a hit and run. Jacob Starling's RBI ground out scored Clonch and Jenkins-Cowart touched home on Bryson Worrell's fielder's choice coupled with a Knight error.
Kuchmaner (4-2) earned the win tossing 5.1 scoreless frames where he allowed two hits with one walk and four strikeouts before he exited the game. Beal notched his first save of the season working 3.2 scoreless relief innings giving up one hit and fanning a career-high five batters. Together the duo faced three batters over the minimum and at one point had retired 20-straight from the first inning to the eighth.
William Saxton (3-2) suffered the loss surrendering eight runs (three earned) on seven hits with five walk and four strikeouts in four innings out of the bullpen. Starter Hunter Patteson went three scoreless frames with a pair of strikeouts before leaving the game with an injury. David Litchfield also saw action out of the bullpen for the Knights allowing two runs (both earned) on two hits with a walk and a pair of strikeouts in two frames.

WICHITA, Kan. -- The University of Cincinnati baseball team rallied to secure a 7-5 victory in the 14th inning over the Wichita State Shockers Friday.
Freshman pitcher Garrett Harker (2-1) picked up the victory out of the bullpen for Cincinnati (15-18, 5-3). The right-hander went six shutout innings while giving up one hit, allowing two walks and striking out four. Senior pitcher Beau Keathley also made an impact on the mound for the Bearcats, starting the ballgame and throwing six innings, giving up three runs, all earned, on four hits, with four walks and five strikeouts.
Redshirt senior infielder Jake Hansen led the way offensively for the Bearcats, going 3-for-6 in the ballgame with a walk and two RBI. Redshirt freshman infielder Kerrington Cross put together a noteworthy day at the plate on his birthday, going 3-for-6 with a double, a walk and an RBI. Redshirt sophomore infielder Max Palmieri also chipped in, going 1-for-6 for Cincinnati with a home run, a walk and an RBI.
Wichita State came back to tie the game at five before the Bearcats reclaimed a 7-5 advantage in the 14th inning. Cincinnati picked up two runs when a single from Hansen scored Harting and redshirt senior infielder Wyatt Stapp. Graduate pitcher Ryan Steckline came in for the save as the Bearcats held on for the win.
Tulane 11, Houston 10 -

HOUSTON – The Tulane University baseball team (24-11-1) tied up the series versus Houston (22-13) by a score of 11-10 on Saturday night inside Darryl & Lori Schroeder Park.
Tulane crossed home twice in the top of the first inning. Leadoff Ethan Groff swatted one out to the shortstop to get on base. Luis Aviles was walked, putting two on for the Wave before Bennett Lee laced one through the left side to score Groff. Aviles slid home on a Houston error to give Tulane the 2-0 lead.
Houston would cut the lead in the bottom of the second inning by scoring one. The Cougars would add two more in the bottom of the third on a two-run homer to take a 3-2 lead over the Green Wave.
Brady Hebert would get walked to kick off the fifth inning. Groff found a hole in right field for a triple to score Hebert. A sacrifice-fly from Aviles would score Groff giving Tulane the 4-3 lead. The Cougars would knot it up at four off a homer in the bottom of the inning.
The crack of the Tulane bat was heard four times in the top of the seventh. Hebert and Groff would both get base hits, bringing Jackson Linn up to the plate where he would hit a single past the shortstop to score Hebert. Lee got in on the action with a familiar Tulane double to score Groff and tied the score 7-7.
The momentum stayed with Tulane in the top of the eighth. Trevor Minder slipped one through the left side to get on base for Hebert, who launched a ball into the parking lot for his first home run of the season. Groff came up to the place next and liked the first pitch he saw, sending a no-doubter over the left wall to bring the score to 10-7.
Groff finished the ballgame with four hits and two runs batted in, hitting .419 on the day to maintain the best average on the team.
Reliever Zach Devito would come to the mound for Tulane in the bottom of the eighth, but Houston wouldn't go quietly, earning three runs on one hit. Tying up the score, 10-10.
The only hit of the ninth inning came from sophomore Jake LaPrarie, doubling one out to left field. LaPrarie would slip by the shortstop throwing down Englehard at first before scoring on a sacrifice fly off the bat of Minder to give Tulane the 11-10 lead.
