WICHITA, Kan. – UCF Baseball (23-16, 7-4) staged a feverous comeback in the middle innings, including five home runs to shock Wichita State (13-26, 2-9), 16-12 and earn the series victory. Chase Centala earns his second win of the season, improving to 2-3, while Kyle Kramer picks up his fourth save of the year, working the final two innings.
The Citronauts opened the scoring in the first, as Andrew Sundean singled to left field to score Gephry Pena. Wichita State answered in the second, taking a 3-1 lead, before Ben McCabe hit a solo home run to right center field.
Wichita State extended their lead to 7-2 in the bottom half of the third, before UCF began a long crawl comeback. Noah Orlando hit a solo home run to center field and Michael Brooks scored on a passed ball later in the inning. Pena closed out the inning with a single through the right side to score Tom Josten and Trent Taylor, cutting the lead to 7-6.
The 'Nauts did not stop there, scoring a pair in the sixth thanks to Trent Taylor's solo home run to left and Ben McCabe's huge double to the game in left center. The Shockers added a run in the sixth to level the game at eight a side, before the 'Nauts scored three more in the top of the seventh to push the lead to 11-8.
In the bottom half, Wichita State scraped across two more runs to make the score 11-10, before Michael Brooks crushed a two-run homer to left field onto 21st Street to give UCF a 13-10 lead. The 'Nauts followed in the ninth, as Andrew Sundean hit a three-run home run to left field, extending the lead to 16-10.

NEW ORLEANS, La. – Carter Spivey tossed a career-high 7.1 innings of relief with seven strikeouts, while East Carolina belted four home runs in an 8-3 series tying win over Tulane Saturday afternoon in American Athletic Conference play. With the win the Pirates improved to 24-16 overall and 8-3 in league play and the Green Wave dropped to 25-14-1 and 7-4.
Spivey (3-0) entered the game in the second inning with the Pirates trailing 2-1 and a runner on first base. The right-hander got a fly ball to end the frame and then retired 13 straight until the top of the seventh inning. Bennett Lee reached on an infield single to begin the inning and the was erased on a double play two batters later. At one point, Spivey had 19-up and 19-down going to the ninth. In all, Spivey scattered three hits, allowed one run (unearned) and struck out one as he tied his career-high with seven strikeouts. Starter CJ. Mayhue allowed two runs (both earned) on two hits with one strikeout before passing the ball to Spivey.
Chandler Welch (4-1) suffered the loss allowing six runs (five earned) on seven hits with a walk and four punch outs over four innings. The Green Wave used three arms in relief getting outings from Carter Robinson (1.0 IP, 2 Hs, 1 R, 1 K), Kyle Beaty (3.0 IP, 2 Hs, 1 R, 1 BB, 2 Ks) and Jonah Wachter (1.0 IP, 2 BBs).

CINCINNATI -- The University of Cincinnati baseball team 10-run ruled the South Florida Bulls on Saturday, winning by a final score of 13-2 in seven innings at UC Baseball Stadium.
Sophomore pitcher Conner Linn (4-1) got the win for Cincinnati (17-20, 7-4). The southpaw went five innings, giving up one run on three hits, allowing two walks and striking out four. Redshirt sophomore pitcher Zach Segal also pitched well, going two innings, surrendering one run on one hit.
Redshirt junior outfielder Griffin Merritt led the way offensively for the Bearcats, going 2-for-3 in the ballgame with a home run, a walk and three RBIs. Redshirt senior infielder Jake Hansen stayed hot at the plate, going 1-for-2 with a home run, a walk and three RBIs. Redshirt junior outfielder Paul Komistek also contributed, going 2-for-4 for Cincinnati with a home run and two RBIs.

HOUSTON – Houston catcher Anthony Tulimero struck a no-doubt solo home run to walk off Memphis and even the three-game series with a 5-4 victory on Saturday night from Sanders Field at Schroeder Park.
The 411-foot home run, deposited on to Elgin Street, was Houston's first walk-off homer since Tyler Bielamowicz struck the game winner against No. 19 Texas in the 11th inning on March 6, 2021. The homer was the second of the season for Tulimero and moved Houston to 25-14 overall and 6-5 in American play.
One night after drawing the loss, Cougar closer Ben Sears (6-2) entered the ninth inning with two aboard and no outs. Following a sacrifice bunt to put runners at second and third, the right-hander induced a pair of pop outs to end the threat.
Memphis (18-17, 4-7 American) scored three times in the eighth inning, evening the game on a two-out, two-run single from eight-hole hitter Blake Daniels. Designated hitter Jacob Compton clubbed a one-out solo home run off reliever Derrick Cherry to start the rally.
The Cougars threatened in the home half as Ian McMillan walked, advanced to second on a wild pitch and moved to third on a wild pitch. The Tigers opted to intentionally walk Brandon Uhse before Zach Arnold's liner was snared by first baseman Chris Swanberg.
Houston scored four runs in the first inning highlighted by Tulimero and Ryan Hernandez two-run singles. The Cougars capitalized on three hits and a pair of walks, jumping on top early for a second straight night.
