IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of its weekly men’s and women’s tennis honors for the week-ending April 4.
AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE WOMEN’S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Elizabeth Pendergast • Fr. • Cincinnati • Cincinnati, Ohio
Pendergast went 3-0 at the No. 1 singles spot, winning all three matches in straight sets, to lead Cincinnati to three dual match victories last week. She was a 6-1, 6-3 winner against Northern Kentucky and followed with a 6-4, 7-6 (4) win against Middle Tennessee and a 6-3, 6-3 decision against Marshall, which proved crucial in the Bearcats’ 4-3 win against the Thundering Herd. Pendergast has helped Cincinnati to a 15-4 record this spring as the Bearcats have won 13 of their last 14 matches.
