IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly golf honors, for the competition week ending Wednesday, April 6.
Men’s Golf Player of the Week
Mason Lenhart * R-Sr. * Cincinnati
Lenhart led the way for Cincinnati at the Mason Rudolph Championship on April 1-3 at the Vanderbilt Legends Club – South Course in Franklin, Tennessee. Lenhart shared 12th place individually with rounds of 71-69-68=208 (-5) during the tournament on the par-71, 7,100-yard setup. Along with breaking par in each round, Lenhart was one of just eight players in the 87-man field to shoot consecutive rounds in the 60s on days two and three. Lenhart’s 15 total birdies were just four off the pace of the tournament leader.
Women’s Golf Players of the Week
Alyssa Lamoureux * Sr. * UCF
Lamoureux tied for second place with teammate Tunrada Piddon in the medalist race as the pair helped lead UCF to a 16-stroke team victory at the Brickyard Collegiate on April 4-5 in Macon, Georgia. Lamoureux carded rounds of 73-70 to close one shot out of a playoff at 1-under-par 143 on the par-72, 6,171-yard layout. Lamoureux’s 29 pars over 36 holes paced the 80-player field.
Tunrada Piddon * Jr. * UCF
Piddon shared second place with Alyssa Lamoureux as UCF claimed a team tournament championship at the Brickyard Collegiate on April 4-5. Piddon turned in rounds of 74-69 to end the event just a stroke off medalist pace at 1-under-par 143. Piddon was one of just five players in the field of 80 to shoot a round in the 60s on the difficult par-72, 6,171-yard track that saw a field stroke average of 76.90 during the tournament.
