NEW ORLEANS – The Tulane University baseball team (22-9-1) defeated the University of South Florida (18-13) in a 6-0 ballgame on Saturday afternoon inside Greer Field at Turchin Stadium.
Dylan Carmouche silenced USF's bats in the second shutout of the year for the Green Wave to clinch the series. Tulane issued zero walks and was boosted by five RBIs from a pair of freshmen, powering the club to a commanding win.
Carmouche, a sophomore, took the hill for Tulane and pitched seven shutout innings. The left-hander struck out seven and allowed just five hits and no walks.
Junior Brad Lord started for USF and allowed six runs, three earned, on nine hits over five innings.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Head Coach Greg Lovelady picked up career victory number 300 on Saturday afternoon, as the Citronauts (19-12, 4-1) run-ruled Memphis (13-14, 1-4) 13-3 in seven innings.
UCF opened the scoring with five runs in the first inning, as Alex Freeland got the 'Nauts on the board with a solo home run to left field. Lex Boedicker doubled to right center to score Noah Orlando to extend the lead to 2-0. Andrew Sundean continued to stay hot for UCF, doubling to left center to score Boedicker. Ryan Taylor added the fourth extra base hit of the inning, scoring Ben McCabe to extend the lead to 5-0.
In the second, UCF continued to put the barrel on the ball when Boedicker singled to right field to score Freeland. Later in the inning, McCabe singled through the left side to score Orlando and put the Citronauts up 7-0.
Cincinnati 13, Houston 3 (7 innings) -

CINCINNATI -- Sophomore outfielder Cole Harting collected five RBIs to help propel the Cincinnati Bearcats over the Houston Cougars, 13-3, in seven innings on Saturday at UC Baseball Stadium.
Senior pitcher Beau Keathley (3-1) started on the mound and picked up the win for Cincinnati (12-17, 2-3). The right-hander went all seven innings, giving up three runs, one earned, on six hits, allowing three walks and striking out six.
Harting went 2-for-3 with a grand slam and a walk in addition to his five RBIs for the Bearcats. Redshirt sophomore catcher Joe Powell put together a standout day at the dish as well, going 2-for-3 with a walk-off triple, two walks and two RBIs. Redshirt junior outfielder Griffin Merritt also chipped in for Cincinnati, putting together one hit in four trips to the plate while adding a three-run home run.
The Bearcats got on the board immediately, starting their scoring with one run in the bottom of the first inning. Cincinnati got an RBI single from redshirt sophomore infielder Ryan Nicholson, scoring Harting from second base.

GREENVILLE, N.C. – East Carolina pounded out 12 hits getting three each from Zach Agnos, Jacob Jenkins-Cowart and Bryson Worrell in a 10-3 American Athletic Conference series-clinching win Saturday at Lewis Field inside Clark-LeClair Stadium. With the victory, the Pirates improved to 18-14 on the year and 4-1 in league play while the Shockers dropped to 12-18 and 1-4.
Leading 2-1 going to the bottom of the fourth, ECU plated a pair of runs extending its lead to 4-1. Worrell singled up the middle and Jenkins-Cowart put runners on the corners with a single to right field. CJ Boyd scored Worrell with a sac bunt and Carter Cunningham's RBI ground out to second pushed across Jenkins-Cowart for the would-be game winning run.
Carter Spivey (2-0) earned the win in relief allowing one run (earned) on two hits with a walk and two strikeouts in 2.1 innings. Starter Jake Kuchmaner gave up two runs (both earned) on six hits with a pair of walks and four punch outs in four-plus frames. Trey Yesavage worked two-thirds of an inning and Jake Hunter closed the game giving up one hit and striking out four in two frames.
Payton Tolle (2-4) suffered the loss after being touched for five runs (all earned) on nine hits with one strikeout in five-plus innings. The Shockers used three arms out of the bull pen in Ryan Stuempfig (1.1 IP, 3 Rs, 4 BBs), Adam Ketelsen (0.2 IP, 2 Hs, 2 Rs, 1 BB, 1 K) and Robert Cranz (1.0 IP, 1 H, 1 K).
