IRVING, Texas – Two-time defending American Athletic Conference women’s rowing champion SMU is headed to the 2022 NCAA Rowing Championships, to be held May 27-29 at Nathan Benderson Park in Sarasota, Fla. SMU will be one of 22 programs competing for the national title.
 
The Mustangs have been seeded No. 12 in the Varsity 8, No. 9 in the Second Varsity 8 and No. 13 in the Varsity 4. SMU is the No. 9 seed in the 2V8 for the second year in a row and is tied for the highest seed for any event at the national regatta in league history.
 
SMU captured its second American Athletic Conference title by sweeping the events at the 2022 conference regatta on May 15 in Oak Ridge, Tenn.
 
The Mustangs will look to improve on an 11^th-place finish at the 2021 NCAA Rowing Championships, which was the highest finish by an American Athletic Conference team in league history.
